Founder and Head Trainer - Rancho Santa FePatrick Pellin began his show jumping career in 1995, competing in his first championship at the Children’s level (1.20m), where he claimed the state champion title. That same year, he was selected for the Brazilian National Children’s Team and went on to place 12th out of more than 120 riders at the Brazilian National Championship.
From 1996 to 1999, Patrick moved up to the Junior division (1.40m), where he won the state championship title four consecutive times. During this period, he rode the same horse that had taken him from Children’s through the Junior ranks—a partnership that became a defining part of his early career. In 1999, he added another state title with a new mare and secured second place in another major competition. He also represented both his state and Brazil on the Junior Team at the Brazilian Championship.
In 2000, as a Young Rider, Patrick placed second in the 1.50m category, continuing to build his reputation as a competitive and consistent talent in the sport.
Following his success in Brazil, Patrick moved to Europe to further develop his riding career. He began working in England with Olympic rider Christopher Bartle and his sister Jane Bartle, training under them for six months. He then spent time riding in Germany before relocating to the Netherlands, where he worked for EuroCommerce—one of the most renowned show jumping barns at the time—riding and producing young horses.
After returning to Brazil, Patrick continued competing at the state level before moving to Belgium, where he spent two years developing and qualifying young horses for the World Championship for Young Horses in Lanaken, Belgium, one of the most prestigious events in the sport.
Eventually, Patrick relocated to California, where he worked for a large barn called H5 Stables, training both horses and clients.
In early 2022, he launched Ipanema Stables, where he brings years of international experience to a modern training program. Since founding the stable, Patrick has successfully developed students competing at the 1.45m and 1.50m levels, with a focus on strong foundations, long-term growth, and high-performance results.

Daniel Anicet also brings a lifetime of equestrian experience to Ipanema Stables. Raised among horses in Brazil, Daniel began riding at a very young age, following in the footsteps of his horse-riding family. He quickly rose through the ranks, competing in local and national competitions, and earning his place on the Brazilian team for the South American Young Riders Championships—where he earned both silver and bronze medals on separate occasions.
At just 18 years old, in his first year competing among professionals, Daniel was runner-up in the Brazilian National Championship at the 1.50m level. He continued to build his career with top results in Grand Prix classes across Brazil and Argentina, notably with his standout horse, Calypso, who helped him secure multiple podium finishes—including winning the South American World Cup Qualifying League title in 2012.
In 2013, Daniel expanded his career internationally, competing in the United States and Canada while managing a successful horse sales business. In 2017, he relocated to Europe to further develop his riding and training expertise, working with both young horse development and top-level sale horses. His time in Europe culminated in a strong performance at the World Championship for Young Horses in 2019 in Lanaken, Belgium.
In 2022, Daniel moved to California to partner with his longtime friend Patrick Pellin and help grow Ipanema Stables in Los Angeles. Since joining the program, Daniel has played a key role in training both riders and horses, helping students advance into the 1.45m and 1.50m levels. His experience in developing top sport horses and coaching competitive riders has been instrumental in establishing Ipanema Stables as a premier training program.
